Walter Chalmers' house
2700 Vallejo (at Divisadero), Pacific Heights
From the posh Pacific Heights neighborhood, one can take in magnificent views of San Francisco's north waterfront (including the Golden Gate Bridge) and marvel at the ornate Victorians that can be found lining some of the streets. It is in this setting, in a white mansion on the corner of Vallejo and Divisadero, near the equally-affluent Cow Hollow district, that Lt. Frank Bullitt meets Chalmers for the first time and learns of his task: keeping Johnny Ross safe.

Below: Three photos from January 2009. The trees are much larger now, and block off the waterfront view that made this location such a prime vantage point when the movie was shot. The telephone pole and wires visible in the '68 shot are gone.
