Enrico's Sidewalk Cafe
504 Broadway at Kearny, North Beach

It is at this venerable North Beach sidewalk restaurant that Lt. Bullitt meets with Eddie, the informant, and learns that Johnny Ross is potentially still at large.

Enrico's opened in 1958, the creation of Enrico Banducci (1922-2007), who had operated the famous hungry i nightclub from 1950 until selling it in 1970.  Enrico's Sidewalk Cafe was open for 48 years, closing in 2006, then reopening under new ownership.  The first photo is of Enrico's as seen in Bullitt, followed by current photos that I took in 2006 and 2007.

Below is a photo that shows the inside of Enrico's, taken in September 2010.  Unfortunately, not much of the restaurant's interior was shown in the movie.

Across the street from Enrico's stood Galaxie, where Bullitt and Eddie talk.  The building is still there, and currently houses the Impala Restaurant and Lounge
